✍️ Motivation for This Document

I wrote this document to help you understand how I work, what I care about, and how we can collaborate effectively. My goal is to create an environment where trust, transparency, growth, and fellowship are not just values but daily practices.

I want you to feel empowered to ask questions, challenge ideas, and bring your full self to work.

🧑‍💻 My Role

I’m responsible for building and scaling high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams. My success is measured by:

  • Team health and engagement
  • Delivery of value-focused outcomes
  • Growth of individuals within the team

I help you improve by providing clear expectations, continuous feedback, development opportunities, and the psychological safety to take smart risks.

🧭 What I Value Most

  • Trust and Transparency — I’d rather hear bad news early than have issues hidden. Problems are solvable when surfaced.
  • Ownership — I expect you to own your work, and I will support you. Ask for help when needed — it’s a strength, not a weakness.
  • Continuous Learning — Mistakes are part of growth. Learn, adapt, and move forward.
  • Outcome over Output — Solving the right problems matters more than ticking tasks off a list.
  • Kindness and Respect — Strong opinions are welcome, but respect is non-negotiable.

How You Can Help Me

  • Communicate openly
  • Propose solutions alongside problems
  • Challenge my thinking when you disagree — it makes us all better

My Weaknesses

I get excited about big ideas and can sometimes move fast. If things feel rushed or unclear, pull me aside — I’ll appreciate it.

📋 My Expectations

  • Communication — Over-communicate if you’re unsure. Early signals beat late surprises.
  • Availability — Generally available 9:00–17:00 CET. Outside of that, emergencies only.
  • Meetings — Join 1–2 minutes early when possible. Cameras on if bandwidth allows.
  • Mistakes — Mistakes are okay; hiding them isn’t. Let’s address and learn quickly.
  • Definition of Done — Clear ownership, tested, documented if necessary, and adds value.

💬 1:1s

  • Cadence — Biweekly, plus ad-hoc when you prefer
  • Who Leads — You do. It’s your time.
  • Focus — Your growth, well-being, feedback (both ways), and anything on your mind
  • Expectations — Bring topics if you can, but no pressure. Some of the best conversations are unscripted.

🎭 Personality Quirks

  • I value humor and lightness — a small joke can improve a tough day.
  • I may ask many questions out of curiosity, not doubt.
  • I deeply appreciate proactive behavior — stepping up earns my respect.
  • I can get intensely focused; if I seem distant, a quick ping brings me back.
